Auto Burglary Investigation
Detective Young was working an Auto Burglary complaint in the Royal Harbor community. During his investigation, he was able to locate stolen property which were in local pawn shops and identify the person who had pawned them. Using prior reports and field interview information, Det. Young was able to identify an associate of the subject, interview the associate and obtain the information about the subject who had supplied the items to the associate.
Det. Young was able to locate the subject and received consent to search the subject’s home. He located property from approximately 30 Auto Burglaries which had been committed in the City of Naples and elsewhere in Collier County.
Det. Young should be commended for his thorough investigation, techniques and processes that he applies to all of the cases assigned to him.

BBQ Lunch Benefit Volunteer
On July 24th, 2009 members of the Naples Police and Fire Department volunteered and/or took personal leave to volunteer at the barbeque held to benefit Hunter DiMaria, the daughter of B/C Pete DiMaria.
Many hours of planning, shopping, set up and clean up were performed. The “Chefs” manned the grills the entire event without relief.
We would like to give a thank you to all in out department who planned and worked this event on their own time which resulted in over $4,000.00 being raised for Hunter.

Intoxicated Intruder
January 2009
On January 30th, 2009 at about 3:00am, multiple officers responded to a call from a juvenile who reported a strange man has come into her bedroom and sat at the foot of her bed mumbling. The man appeared to be intoxicated. The man was identified as Clint Joseph Richardson, 35. Richardson was apprehended and arrested for Burglary (Case# 09-00267).
We received an e-mail from Ms. Amy Ashby, the mother of the reporter who was also in the house at the time of the incident. Ms. Ashby wanted to say how impressed she was with all of the officers who responded to her home that night.
Ms. Ashby stated officers responded within 30 seconds and apprehended the subject with professionalism and expertise. She wanted to thank all of the officers involved for their “unbelievable professionalism” in the handling of the incident.
Congratulations to all officers involved for your good teamwork in this incident.
