Stolen and Recovered Vehicle
In July 2009, Ofc. Travis responded to a past occurred theft of a motor vehicle. As he was continuing to collect information from the reporter, Ofc. Stacey Walker observed the stolen vehicle traveling Southbound on Goodlette-Frank Rd. Ofc. Walker, with the assistance of Ofc. Linda Lines and Ofc. David Spearman, conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle.
Both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and charged with Grand Theft. The vehicle was returned to the owner with no new damage to it. The entire incident was handled and cleared within a 2-hour time span.
The officers involved are to be commended for their quick response and handling of the incident.

We received a letter from Xavier M. Vega, one of our FGCU Interns, who wanted to thank all of the officers who made his internship experience nothing less than excellent.
He stated he gained vauable and immeasurable experience while here and that officers showed professionalism and personal courtesy beyond the requirements of the department standards.
Your participation in the internship program and the manner in which you conducted the training of this intern is to be commended.
[...] Ofc. Chris Travis and three other officers have been recognized for their quick action and team work which resulted in the apprehension of two individuals who had stolen a vehicle less than an hour before. [...]
