Promotional Ceremony: At a ceremony held at the Naples Police and Fire Department, David Lupien was congratulated on being promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Bicycle Registration Program: In an attempt to help victims of bicycle theft, the Naples Police and Fire Department has implemented a bicycle registration program. The program is designed to help in the identification of lost or stolen bicycles.

Need Help to identify Theft Group: The Naples Police Department needs your help to identify a group responsible for multiple thefts from Walgreens liquor stores within Collier County.

Brotherhood Ride 2009; Two members of the Naples Police Department are participating in the Brotherhood Ride 2009. This year’s ride is in honor of Fort Myers Police Officer Andrew Widman who was killed in the early morning hours of July 18, 2008. Officer Widman was responding to a report of a disturbance in the Fort Myers Downtown District.

07/03/2009 July 4th Fireworks at the Naples Pier Some helpful information for those who plan to attend the July 4th Fireworks which will start at 9:00 pm at the end of the Naples Pier.

06/30/2009 New Seat Belt Law Goes Into Effect Today!! The Naples Police want to remod you that todays is the day the state’s seat belt law becomes a primary offense. What this means is if a law enforcement officer observes a seat belt violation, they can stop you without first having to observe a separate offinse.

06/25/2009 Naples Police Arrest 6 for Auto-Burglary at Coastland Center Mall Naples Police arrested six Miami residents for an auto burglary at the Coastland Center Mall. A passer-by saw what she felt was suspicious activity by the vehicle occupants and wrote down their license plate number. As a patrol car happened by her, she flagged down the officer and reported her suspicions. Upon further investigation by the officer, the suspects were caught and all stolen property was recovered. In addition, one of the suspects was later charged by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for his involvement in an earlier theft of $15,000. It is believed the suspect tampered with the victim’s vehicle in the earlier incident, causing the victim to have to pull over. it wasz while he was stopped the theft occurred.

06/25/2009 Naples Police “Beat the Heat” is headed to Homestead! The Naples Police Department will be participating in the Homestead-Miami Speedway’s “Test & Tune” which is designed to give car enthusiasts a controlled 1/8 mile course on which to test and tune their street legal vehicles.

06/22/2009 Naples Police and Fire Department Youth Academy (2009); The Naples Police and Fire Department is proud to announce the return of the Youth Academy. Each one-week program will introduce middle school students, ages 11-14, to careers in Law Enforcement, Fire Service and Emergency Medical Service. Students will be involved in classroom and practical exercises.

04/16/2009 Lights on Bikes: Naples Police and the Naples Pathway Coalition to again host the Lights on Bikes program. This program helps people who use their bicycles for commuting to work but are unable to afford the safety equipment required for night time use.

04/10/2009 National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week: April 12th – 18th celebrates the work performed by our Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services dispatchers. These are the folks who truly “tell us where to go”.

03/26/2009 Robbery Attempt: occurred in the 1300 block of 5th Avenue North on Tuesday March 24th, 2009. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Naples Police Department.
